Signature Assignment

The ability to anticipate what will happen in the future has always been an important aspect of any business endeavor. For the purposes of this assignment, you will be providing some forecasting information as requested from your CEO.

You are coming to the end of your first year as Vice President of an ELECTRIC VEHICLE COMPANY and indeed the innovations you have recommended and the changes you have put into place have largely been effective. Clearly, there is a climate and culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism that didn’t exist before. With that said, your CEO wants to make sure that they don’t fall behind again in the future and can begin to get ahead of the curve by thinking about what lies ahead in this important area. To that end, your CEO has asked you to provide a forecasting report in relationship to innovation from both the company and from the customer’s perspective. Therefore, your job for this assignment is to prepare a written submission that articulates your approach to this requirement and describes thoroughly how you would respond for your CEO regarding each of the following components.

Component 1: Customer Changes: Articulate how the customer is changing and how these changes will have an impact on the business. Be specific in this case in talking about the ELECTRIC VEHICLE BUSINESS in which you are Vice President and specifically how the new sensibilities that are being developed by the customer will shape their interaction with the brand or service.

Component 2: The Impact of Openness and Technology on Innovation: For this section, get specific about how open sourcing, more sophisticated networks, and other future considerations will have an impact on the organization’s ability to innovate and create conditions where entrepreneurship is likely to emerge.

Component 3: Labor Force Changes/Future Considerations: In this final section describe how the change in the labor force is likely to have an effect on the work of the organization and its ability to continue to innovate as new employees are hired and brought into the system. How does the changing labor force and the availability of an international work force change your approach? Does this dynamic offer new opportunities or insights? How does the infusion of these new labor changes impact the capacity to innovate?
