AP English Literature and Composition Essay – Hamlet, at its core, is an examination of three revenge stories. Three young men have lost their fathers and seek revenge for their deaths. All three are successful in avenging their father’s death. All three express regret about their circumstances.
Using the lens of Freudian psychoanalysis (Only ID, Ego, and Superego), examine the three revenge stories. Which character does Shakespeare present as the most developed, noble mind? Why?
